Turbolina Seawater Desalination
Only approx. 0.3 % of the total quantity of water on earth can be used as clean drinking water. This means that over 50 million m³ of drinking water must be gained from sea or brackish water every day. Nonetheless, there is an increasing shortage of drinking water. The existing technologies are almost exclusively dependent on the supply of energies from fossil fuels.
With our technology, we are able to gain drinking water effectively and in large quantities using solar seawater desalination. We plan and construct plants with a daily capacity from 1.000 m³, worldwide.
With the residual temperature level from power generation using the Turbolina process, a proportion of the fresh seawater required to cool the plant is evaporated with an “evaporation tower” in an independent, closed microclimate.
As, in addition to the production of drinking water, Turbolina seawater desalination also generates power from the solar heat, the economy relative to conventional seawater desalination plants is much greater, particularly as we avoid fossil fuels and use only solar energy.
